Danny Aiello, italiano y con principios
Danny Aiello es otro de esos inmensos actores secundarios que ha dejado su impronta en muchas de las mejores películas de las últimas décadas: El Padrino 2, Érase una vez en América, La Rosa Púrpura del Cairo, León, etc. Un tanto encasillado por su origen italiano en papeles de tipo duro, también ha sabido explotar su vis cómica en obras como Two Much o El Gran Halcón. Aiello pertenece a una familia que tradicionalmente ha simpatizado con el partido demócrata. Sin embargo, la política de Clinton le hizo desencantarse con la izquierda y convertirse al partido republicano, ya que según afirma, él es un tradicionalista. Patricia Heaton es toda una institución en el área del entretenimiento en los EEUU. Durante años coprotagonizó “Everybody loves Raymond”, la comedia que arrasaba un año sí y otro también tanto en las audiencia como en los premios Emmy (ella se llevó dos estatuíllas), y que ahora emite en España la Sexta. Marta Domínguez, nuestra campeonísima
Marta Domínguez es uno de los mayores exponentes de la historia del atletismo español. La corredora de media distancia cuenta con un impresionante palmarés que podeis consultar en su magnífica página web personal, y ha conseguido sobreponerse a las lesiones y las dificultades de una manera ejemplar. Además de destacar por su carácter optimista, luchador y ganador, Marta es una de nuestros pocos deportistas orgullosos de lucir la bandera española allí donde nos represente. En los pasados campeonatos europeos de atletismo de 2006, la atleta castellana logró una espléndida medalla de oro y, en un país donde muchos sienten reparo o incluso rechazo frente a cualquiera de nuestros símbolos, escuchó el himno nacional con la mano en el corazón. Además, es una mujer comprometida con la sociedad en la que vive y ha dado el paso a la política. Es concejala del Partido Popular en el ayuntamiento de Palencia. La ligera fondista palentina, que recibió una llamada de felicitación del presidente del Gobierno mientras atendía a la prensa, se emocionó en el podio. Escuchó el himno nacional cerrando los ojos y llevándose la mano al corazón. Seguro que se acordó de sus miserias, de ese año y medio lesionada.

Fue el alcalde socialista, contra el que se enfrentará en las próximas elecciones municipales en las urnas, ya que Marta Domínguez se presentará por el Partido Popular a la concejalía de deportes, quién se dirigió a los asistentes en primera instancia recordando la valía como deportista y como persona de la atleta.

Gary Sinise: el teniente Dan ayuda en Irak
Gary Sinise es uno de los mejores actores del Hollywood actual. Su currículum muestra que ha participado en muchas de las mayores producciones de la última década. Desde su inolvidable papel del tullido teniente Dan en Forrest Gump a la Milla Verde, pasando por Rescate, Snake Eyes, Apollo 13, o Misión a Marte. Actualmente es una de las estrellas de la serie televisiva CSI Nueva York. Sinise se ha distinguido por manifestar públicamente sus ideas políticas conservadoras, y muy especialmente por su apoyo a los soldados estadounidenses, a los veteranos de guerra, y a la reconstrucción de Irak. Plácido Domingo siempre afina
Decir Plácido Domingo es hablar de una de las mayores personalidades de la historia de la ópera. Considerado como uno de los mejores tenores de todos los tiempos, pasó gran parte de su infancia en Mexico, país por el que siente un especial cariño, y ya en la década de los 60 comenzó una fulgurante y espectacular carrera con éxitos en los mejores escenarios del mundo. Además de cómo cantante, Domingo destaca como director de orquesta, y de hecho en la actualidad desempeña esta faceta en los Estados Unidos. Johnny Ramone, punk-rock de derechas
Hace menos de dos años nos dejaba el líder del que fue uno de los grupos de rock más influyentes de los últimos 30 años: The Ramones. Johnny era un rebelde en un mundo rebelde, pues durante años, y desde una perspectiva liberal, defendió como pocos al partido republicano, desde Ronald Reagan hasta George W. Bush. Por supuesto sus ideas le valieron no pocos ataques de otros compañeros de profesión, pero nunca consiguieron mitigar el arrollador éxito del mayor exponente de punk-rock de la historia.He was a rebel in a rebel's world, though. Johnny got a bad rap for being a Republican. As if being in a rock and roll band means you MUST OBEY certain rules and vote and think about politics in a certain, accepted, left-wing manner? Sorry. Johnny never took any crap and didn't believe in bullshit, so he was not shy about being a Republican. A lot of people who knew him suspected that this might have been more posture than politics, but Johnny never let on that his views were anything but sincere.
